What if?, by Pam Rocker
We get open invitation every day
to self-exclude, self-harm, self-annihilate
and these messages come from pulpits and pews
things said and things left in piercing silence
and it makes me wonder…
what if our sanctuaries could truly be sanctuaries?
What if our hearts did not have to be fractured in order to be named as beloved children of God?
What if we were invited every day, to be moe of ourselves instead of less?
What if the chruch was the *first* place I could go and know that I would belong?
Me.
All of me.
With my whole heart.
What if?
We are not a topic
We are the church.
